Deze ontstekingen hebben een lichter vliegwiel en een verbeterde 'curve' waardoor prestaties toenemen. Hoe werkt een binnenrotor

Het draaiende deel, ook wel de rotor of het vliegwiel genoemd, is voorzien van magneten aan de binnenkant. Door het draaien (roteren) van het vliegwiel ontstaat energie wat door de spoelen in de stator opgevangen wordt. Door dit signaal middels een bobine te versterken wordt er een vonk gecreëerd. Wanneer je vliegwiel versleten is dan laat het magnetische materiaal los. In deze categorie hebben we ook losse vliegwielen, het roterende gedeelte van de scooter ontsteking. Een nieuw vliegwiel is eenvoudig zelf te plaatsen, alleen is het gebruik van een vliegwieltrekker wel makkelijk om het oude vliegwiel los te halen. Op de krukas zit het vliegwiel welke om de stator(ontsteking) heen draait. Als je vliegwiel stuk is kan je hier een standaard vliegwiel kopen maar ook rotors of CDI's van een binnenrotor vind je in deze categorie.

Verschil binnenrotor en gewone ontsteking

Een binnenrotor is ontwikkeld voor race doeleinden. Het vliegwiel is over het algemeen een stuk lichter dan het vliegwiel van een originele ontsteking. Door een lichter vliegwiel te monteren wordt de reactie op het gas beter, omdat er minder energie nodig is om een lichte rotor te laten draaien. Dit kan een voordeel zijn. Soms is het ook wenselijk om juist wat meer gewicht op de krukas te hebben, er zijn daarom voor vele rotors extra platen beschikbaar waarmee je het roterende gewicht kan verhogen. Naast het verschil in vliegwiel, is er een groot verschil in de CDI / curve van de ontsteking. Zo zijn er digitale ontstekingen die een 'curve' hebben. Een curve houd in dat het ontstekingstijdstip niet bij alle toeren gelijk is. Hierdoor kan je bij lage toeren vroeger ontsteken en bij hoge toeren later ontsteken. Bij analoge binnenrotor ontstekingen is het ontstekingstijdstip niet variabel maar vast. Dit houd in dat er bij elk toerental evenveel voorontsteking is. Het ontstekingstijdstip is bij standaard ontstekingen van scooters in de meeste gevallen ook vast. Door een binnenrotor met curve te monteren kan je een hoger vermogen halen, en het gebied van vermogen vergroten. Wil je niet opvoeren maar gewoon een vervanging voor de originele ontsteking?
